Entering the Silence: There is a vast never-ending expanse of stillness and silence within. The Asatoma Prayer speaks to this: lead me to that timeless radiant peace and tranquility within. So, in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the holiday season it feels right to focus on cultivating silence—as an equalizer and antidote to the busyness and stress that so often seem to hijack the season.
One of the effects of mediative practices such as Radical Relaxation, is the experience of inner stillness and silence. This state of inner silence is deeply soothing, blissful, intimate, healing and transformative. It connects you with your inner most self — the still small voice within.
Silence descends as a result of pratyahara-introversion. You can’t make it happen. It arises only when the proper conditions [physical-mental-emotional-spiritual] are met as in the deepest states of relaxation and meditation.
This exploration promotes the experience of silence by adding the Om Meditation to the practice. One mystery of Om is its ability to produce silence through sound. By settling deeper and deeper into the sound of Om we reach the very heart of sound, which is silence. The depth of this silence is not the mere absence of sound, but a profound state of awareness of the silence and stillness at the very core of our being.
The Om Meditation is an expressway to the experience of inner-peace and silence.
Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed and joyous Holiday Season!
